AaaAaAaAhhHhH: A silly mic-controlled game becomes a festival pleaser.
“AaaAaAaAhhHhH!” a game about yelling at a cube, was originally created for the 2020 GMTK Game Jam theme “Out of Control” in 12 hours and was placed top 100 by community voting.
Testing this game killed my voice during development. My roommate thought I had finally lost my mind as I made weird noises at my computer all day.

Hear that laughter!
Since release, I’ve been approached twice to have this game displayed in large festivals in Germany. This was a solo project and utilized a color palette tool I made.
The concept for AaaAaAaAhhHhH! came after a night playing VR Chat. For the theme of “Out of Control” I wanted to make a game that utilized the microphone but also made you feel like you were coming out of your shell by using your voice in a goofy way.
The idea was to make the bar graph of your voice frequency knock a cube around.
